What is Justice?

The President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in his speech in front of the general assembly of the U.N. spoke of justice. I found it not only amusing, but intriguing as well. His speech was very reflective of the ideology of Islam. His concept of Justice concerned the nation of Iran. His argument is based upon a belief that all legitimate countries are created equal. Therefore, the equality of justice among the nations has nothing to do with morality or what we would consider to be good and just, it has to do with the fact that Iran is a sovereign nation. Because Iran is a sovereign nation, it deserves to be treated on an equal basis with all other nations of the world. That is justice, according to the President of Iran.

Here in the United States, we tend to view justice in light of the individual. We believe that all individuals are created equal and that the governments of the world should respect the rights of the individual. Justice is a matter of the societal importance to protect the individuals in that society. Justice is then administered by the governing body on behalf of the individual. That is why we view 9/11 as an injustice and the ideology of Islam views 9/11 as a blow to its enemy, the United States. The 3,000 plus individuals who were slaughtered have not ever been viewed as relevant in any way. The attack hurt the United States...that is what is important for Islamic Justice. Our nation is called the "great satan." Notice the singularity of the phrase. Also, if you look at the massive tragedies of injustice in the Sudan, you will notice that what is important in the ideology of Islam is that they retain control of the country. The hundreds of thousands who are dead are irrelevant. Whatever is necessary to retain control is Just.

So, Iran, in the minds of the Islamic world, should be allowed to do whatever they please in regards to nuclear energy or weaponry. It is an injustice to stop them because they are on an equal footing with all of the other nations of the world. If the U.S. has nuclear weapons, they reason, then any other Islamic nation in the world should have nuclear weapons.

It is important to note here that Israel is not afforded the same relevance as other nations. It is crucial for Ahmadinejad to keep the Holocaust in the forefront of his discussion concerning Israel because he has figured out a way to make Israel a counterfeit nation no matter how you interpret the Holocaust. He does not care what is believed about the Holocaust (of course his hatred for the Jews and the nation of Israel is apparent nevertheless) because his goal is not to change history, but to keep a discussion which he began alive. That is, in his mind...Israel is an illegitimate nation because he claims it was only birthed as a nation because of the collective guilt of European nations and pressure from the United States. He claims that if the Holocaust did occur, then it is up to the European nations, specifically Germany,  to make things right for the Jewish people where they were living at the time. However, even more importantly to Ahmadinejad, if the Holocaust never actually ocurred, then the world reacted wrongly by giving them land for a nation. His belief that the Holocaust was the reason that Israel was ever given the land is critical to understanding why he thinks it is Just to want to destroy the nation of Israel. Since his view is that the Nation is what is important, destroying the "nation" of Israel is Just because that land should make up the nation of Palestine. It is simply correcting a previous injustice.

He obviously does not understand history. The Jew and the Christian alike view the individual and his/her created capacity to know and love God and their fellow human beings as paramount. The Jews and the Christians can never be defeated. He completely misses this truth...as do all who share the ideology of Islam. Even if Israel and the United States were defeated, the spirit of Israel and the United States would continue to live on because our identity is found in something much greater than the societal governing body in which we live. People in the United States and Israel do not go to war to defend their respective governments, they go to war and are willing to die for the cause of the freedom of the individual. Our respective nations are a collection of free individuals. This is not true for those who follow the teachings of Islam. Their identity is found not in a collection of individuals, but in the state...whether that be the nation of Iran or the greater "nation of Islam." The individual is only important in that it is a tool to be wielded by the state. Now, of course, individual greed ironically is used to carry out manipulation of the individual to "sacrifice" him/herself for the greater good of the society. It is interesting that it is sexual greed at that. The promise of 72 virgins for a young male anything is compelling in and of itself. If you throw in a religious slant to it...it is quite a powerful tool of manipulation. Individual rewards are only seen in light of the "so-called" good for the governing body...political or religious. And, these individual rewards are only applicable after death. This makes death easy. For the muslim individual, life is a constant reminder of all of those things that you cannot attain while living. Only in death...can those cravings and desires of the individual be satisfied. The leaders in the Islamic world live by a different standard however. They can fulfill the lusts of the flesh through the acquisition and control of power. Whether they indulge themselves sexually is not entirely relevant...because the fleshly lust of power is typically stronger and therefore can satisfy even amidst a life of saying "no" to so many other things. So, even though the collective teachings of Islam are for the furtherence of political and religious ends (the lines are very easily blurred between the two), it is the manipulation of feeding the lusts of the flesh that are the means to this end.

Thus, when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaks of Justice, the western mind cannot fully comprehend what he is saying. We interpret it through our own lenses of what we think Justice is defined as. This creates a conflict. The American media elevates this man because they typically do not have a clue as to what he is talking about. If they knew that Justice in the Iranian president's mind truly meant the end of western civilization (because like Israel, it is all illegitimate), and the end to their own way of life, they would be in an uproar. As it stands...he is smart enough to know that he is playing our media like a musician plays his/her instrument. Hopefully, the mainstream media one day will wake up to the fact that our concepts of right and wrong, good and bad, morality and immorality simply do not apply to the ideology of Islam. Anything that brings about a complete domination by the political/religious body of Islam is what is just, right, moral and good. Lying, cheating, stealing, destroying, murdering are all acceptable to bring about the justice that Ahmadinejad speaks about. So, his personal mission in life is to bring about the "end of the world." He believes Justice will finally be fully served when the "savior" (the 12th Imam) returns and sets up a dominant world government that dictates to the world the political/religious views of Islam and rids the world of the "evil" western mentality including Christianity and the Jewish faith. This is why he ended his speech to the U.N. general assembly with his pseudo prayer. He is committed and passionate to bringing this about. He very well could be the most dangerous human being on the planet. We need to understand where he is coming from to fully realize how dangerous he truly is. He has a belief system similar to that of Hitler in that he believes passionately in his cause to destroy all other views and ways of life. This is coupled with a system similar to communism...a very dangerous combination. We need to understand these things and the times we are living in.

One last thing in closing...I believe he is extremely close to having nuclear weapons. I am not even sure they have to know how to build them themselves. They have a neighbor that I believe is probably not too far from sharing nuclear (and much more conventional) weapons with Iran. Russia far and away has the largest arsenal of weaponry in the world. They still want world domination, I believe. They were not able to accomplish it on their own. But if they could harness the religious/political fervor of the people of Islam along with the awesome numbers...consider the possibilities.
